Pype Hayes progress following site visit

(download)
This evening members of the Birmingham Connect2 project Steering Group met with various representatives from Birmingham City Council (Landscape Practice; Cycling; Parks) and the Project Manager for the contractor, and undertook a site visit along the partially constructed new walking and cycling route alongside Plants Brook and through Pype Hayes Park.

The excellent news is that the project is on schedule for an early August completion.

The new section of path feeding into Pype Hayes park from Plants Brook is just awaiting the final surfacing.

Alongside the brook there are a few more weeks of preparatory work to complete, specifically on the kerbing that retains the earth banks alongside the path. Some of this retaining kerb has just started to be laid.
